Ground Nutritional Yeast
Ground nutritional yeast is a great topping for popcorn! Buddy commented on our post about popcorn, and mentioned that he grinds salt in his magic bullet so that it stays on popcorn better. This gave Chickpea the idea to grind nutritional yeast to see if that would prevent it from falling to the bottom of the popcorn bowl. She tried grinding 2 tablespoons of nutritional yeast in our Nutri Bullet using the milling blade, and it worked great! (Some still falls to the bottom of the bowl, but not as much and the popcorn gets nicely coated with fine, soft granules). She also successfully ground 2 tablespoons of nutritional yeast in our Mr. Coffee coffee bean grinder. (We have actually never used our coffee grinder for coffee, we use it for spices). To store the ground nutritional yeast we used a small funnel and poured it into an old spice jar. We have a big collection of used glass cinnamon jars from Simply Organic because Bean uses so much cinnamon in his oatmeal. With their shaker tops, the jars work great for sprinkling ground nutritional yeast on popcorn. Thanks, Buddy, for the inspiration!
