The Little Mustard Seed Cafe and Shoppe, located in New Baltimore, Michigan, serves all certified organic ingredients! We were so happy to discover this restaurant. (Thank you Shannon for telling us about it!) It offers a full gluten free menu, as well as dairy free and vegan options.  The owners are friendly, helpful and passionate about food and nutrition. The menu features smoothies, drinks, soups, salads, sandwiches and pizza. Over 20 food items are vegan! Yay! It is so liberating to visit a restaurant and have options other than a salad (hold the cheese and meat) or veggie burger.

The Green Monster Smoothie includes spinach, kale, cucumber, apple and banana. It is delicious–fresh and sweet!

The Little Mustard Seed Cafe and Shoppe has 7 vegan sandwiches on the menu: Veggie, Roasted Mushroom, Southern Veggie, Basil Hummus Home Run, Hummus Veggie, Lentil Wrap, and Grown Up Grilled Cheese. The smashing photo above shows the Veggie which is made from avocado, carrots, cucumber, spinach, alfalfa sprouts, onion, tomato, lettuce and herb dressing. This sandwich has a great combination of flavors and the herb dressing is delicious.

The retail section of this delightful cafe includes fair trade and made in the US items from a variety of companies. Their own brand- Nature’s Boudaries- features cold-process soaps and organic body care products. We bought a lavender soap which Kim loves. Besides being organic, it lasts, has a lovely fragrance, and leaves your skin feeling soft.
