Don’t worry about tomorrow
Here’s another post from Kelly! She brings up a positive message about doing your best and not worrying about tomorrow. We love this point of view. It is all about progress! Do the best you can and don’t worry if things are not perfect.
Kelly also brings up a great message about pizza! The pizza she mentions is the Garden Party Pizza from Pizza Hut. Please click here to read more about this delicious pizza! Thank goodness, you can get vegan pizza from just about any pizzeria. We ask for pizza with double sauce, no cheese, and lots of veggies.
We hope you enjoy her post!

Don’t worry about tomorrow, just see what you can do today…
So this is what happened the other night–my daughter said, “Hey Mom, can we order that vegan pizza with the spinach and balsamic on it tonight?”I said to myself, “What?! Did I hear this right? My cheese-loving, milk-drinking, yet also entirely compassionate, animal-loving, teenage daughter just asked for vegan pizza for dinner tonight? Wow!” Then I said, “Ok, I’ll get right on that! Can somebody get me the number of the pizza delivery please?”Dinner was quick and delicious that night! But you know, it just really made my day when she asked for my kind of pizza and it made me think that I must be making a good impression on her. I still allow her to eat most of what she wants, but I’ve been showing her healthier choices, and talking about the reasons why it is important to live this way. But, I don’t push her. This is a big change for anyone, let alone a teenager who is surrounded by chicken nuggets, pop and pepperoni pizza every day.So as her Mom, I help her out by having healthier options to choose from at home. She stillloves her egg salad sandwich or turkey wrap for lunch, but I add fresh fruit and veggies in her lunch too. She chooses to have more water instead of juice and I try to give her crunchy snacks, like pretzels or homemade trail mix to satisfy her junk food cravings.I also make her vegan lunches like pasta salad with cut veggies and chickpeas or my “famous” Eggless Egg Salad recipe that a good friend passed along to me. Pushing someone to make healthier choices is not a good way to be. It causes arguments and can make the other person feel like they have no control over what they choose to eat, so they could end up making more un-healthy choices, just to feel in control. It doesn’t matter if it’s an adult or a child, everyone likes to be in control of their own choices. So I think that even one vegan meal a day, or one extra serving of fresh veggies is better than none at all. And I think that my family appreciates my efforts in making foods for them that help them feel better throughout their day.I may be more “vegan” than the rest of the people in this house (so far) but I am raising healthier kids, a healthier hubby and a family full of people who are more aware of the important role whole foods play in their lives. It’s really all about making healthier choices and deciding each day to try your best. If you make a mistake or an un-healthy choice today, forget about it and choose to try again tomorrow. Which leads us back to the first sentence of this entry.Don’t worry about tomorrow, just see what you can do today…That is what I have to tell myself. Every. Single. Day.
