Homemade Vegan Pizza
We love pizza!! Impress your friends and family with this scrumptious vegan version. You can completely customize this pizza however you want. To save time, we buy a dough ball from Jet’s Pizza. We love their dough and it saves us from extra prep in the kitchen. You could also make your own dough, or buy your favorite grocery store dough. It will still be delicious!
Our future son-in-law Terry used to work at a popular pizza store in Michigan, so he helped us figure out how to properly handle the dough. We bake the dough by itself before any toppings go on to help it from getting soggy. Once the dough has baked by itself, layer any leafy greens you want on your pizza, like spinach or kale. This prevents them from burning.
With a spoon, spread as much pizza sauce as you would like. We use Trader Joe’s pizza sauce that comes in a jar because it is tasty and oil-free. If you want to get fancy, crumble some vegan sausage or meatballs on your pizza for a meaty texture. Sometimes we use Trader Joe’s meatless meatballs.
Once your sauce is on, place all the rest of your toppings on your pizza. We like to use diced green bell pepper, diced onion, tomatoes, artichokes, banana peppers, sliced olives, and mushrooms.
Bake your pizza at 375 for about 30 minutes and bam! Delicious vegan pizza is served.
