On 9-9-11 my A1C reading reached it’s highest point and this is when my doctor began to prescribe me insulin. The insulin was to be taken along with the other 3 oral medications I had been taking for years.

On 12-3-11 Kim and I began our whole food plant based diet and in just 26 days of being on this life change my next blood work showed my A1C and cholesterol levels had improved significantly. A1C down 2.4 points, Cholesterol down 60 points, LDL down 43 points and triglycerides down 81 points. It was at this point I was becoming a believer in food being the answer to my health issues.

My Feb 2012 labs continue to show improvement. My A1C dropped another 1.1 points to 7. My cholesterol went up but remember I was no longer taking medication for high cholesterol and it was still in the normal range. All other cholesterol numbers were in the normal range.

Here are my readings for March 2012 that continue to see my A1C drop. Not as much as the initial drop but continuing to drop none the less. All cholesterol levels are good as well.
