Michigan Dining Offers Vegan Options
Michigan dining offers vegan options! Michigan Dining runs the residence hall dining rooms at the University of Michigan. Our son took us to the dining hall at South Quad recently and we enjoyed a delicious cafeteria meal. They had a station similar to a Mongolian Grill restaurant where we could choose vegan items such as tofu, edamame, veggies, brown rice, and a variety of sauces. They also had veggie sushi, pasta with marinara sauce and choices of veggies, an extensive salad bar with several choices of legumes such as chickpeas (yay!), a grill area with veggie burgers, plenty of fresh fruit and a vegan’s dream come true–a hummus bar! Marc especially enjoyed the sushi. (He went up to the sushi bar 7 times!) There were also several types of nondairy milk available; I chose a nice tall glass of cold chocolate soy milk! The coffee and tea selections were great too. To finish off the meal, I enjoyed a mug of hot, strong organic coffee.
Wow! We were impressed with the quality and selection of foods offered. Way to go Michigan Dining! Go Blue!
