Homemade Vegan Pizza
Our Homemade Vegan Pizza is a crowd pleaser! When you have guests you can let people build their own personal pizzas. Provide tasty toppings like onion, fresh garlic, chunks of tomatoes, pineapple tidbits, sliced olives, basil, bell pepper, hot peppers, mushrooms, artichokes–the possibilities are endless. This works well for kids too. They can create faces on their personal pizzas and get involved in the cooking process.
Sometimes we make the dough from scratch. When we are in a hurry or feeding a crowd, we like to use a pre-made dough ball. You can find these in the freezer section of the grocery store. Many pizza restaurants sell them as well. (Please be sure to check the ingredients–some contain lard).
Below you will find our favorite toppings, but feel free to play around and design pizzas with toppings you love. That’s one of the things we like most about pizzas–they’re so easy to customize!
- 1 dough ball
- 1jar pizza sauce
- 1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 sliced tomato
- 1cup sliced mushrooms
- 1/4cup diced onion
- 1/2cup baby spinach
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out your dough to your desired shape. For a normal pizza style make the dough about 1/2 inch in height. Poke any bubbles with a fork.
- If you desire a flavored crust, add spices along the edge. We like to use cajun seasoning or garlic powder.
- Bake the dough by itself for 3-5 minutes.
- Once out of the oven, place any leafy greens over your pizza so the leaves don't burn.
- Spread sauce over your pizza.
- Scatter any other toppings and spices you would like over the pizza.
- Bake for 15-25 minutes until the crust in golden brown.
- Cut your pizza with a pizza cutter or knife and enjoy!
